The following FLASS scholars have either been appointed to major positions, contributing their expertise for the benefit of the community, or have recently received significant external or internal awards.

Awards
Dr Jiang Shan recently received the “British Journal of Sports Medicine (BJSM) PhD Academy Award”. The award recognises her research on physical activity interventions for improving 24-hour movement behaviours, physical fitness, fundamental movement skills, and cognitive function among Chinese preschoolers.
Dr Louie Hung-tak, Lobo, MH

Awards
Dr Lobo Louie, right, recently received the “Hong Kong Police College 18 Years’ Long Service Award” from the Hong Kong SAR Government. He has served as the Police College’s Honorary Advisor since 2008. In this role, Dr Louie provides professional advice to enhance training, leadership, and strategic development, particularly from a physical fitness perspective.
Professor Philip Yu Leung-ho

External appointment
Professor Yu was appointed by the Sciences, Medicine, Engineering and Technology Selection Panel (S-Panel) as a Local Member for assessing and making recommendation of nominations in the 2026/27 Selection Exercise for the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS) (2026/27 intake) and the Research Grants Council (RGC) Junior Research Fellow Scheme (JRFS) (2026/27 cohort).
Dr Gary Chow Chi-ching

External appointment
Dr Chow was appointed by the Education Bureau as a member of Assessment Working Group (2025/2026) and a member of the Assessment panel on Physical Education Key Learning Area of the Chief Executive's Award for Teaching Excellence (CEATE).
